Welcome to Astley St Stephen's Church of England
Primary School.
Ofsted December 2021:
"St. Stephen's C.E. Primary School continues to
be a good school. Pupils love coming to school. Staff enable pupils to
believe in themselves. Staff ensure that pupils are happy
and safe at school by taking good care of them. Pupils,
and their parents and carers, spoke highly of teachers and
other staff. Pupils said that teachers make learning fun.
Leaders and governors have developed an ambitious
curriculum that captures the interest of their
pupils. "
Siams Inspection November 2024 highlighted the
following strengths:
-
St Stephen’s Christian vision is highly effective
in meeting the needs of the community. The school is a
light that shines in the darkness for many. It enables
both pupils and adults to shine and thrive
-
Relationships across school reflect the vision, where
adults and pupils are good role models inspiring each
other through a love of learning
-
There are well planned, invitational opportunities for
the whole school community to come together for
celebration, reflection, and prayer. As a result,
collective worship contributes significantly to both
adults and pupils flourishing spiritually
-
Governors demonstrate a clear understanding of the
Christian vision. They value and recognise that all
decisions are based on and supported by the vision
-
A close relationship with the church affirms a keen
sense of community. It supports Christianity as a living
faith and enhances the work of the school.
We are a small, family
primary school who cares about the well being and education
of every child.
Our whole team works to provide every child with the
opportunity to achieve his or her full potential. We have a
number of features which make our school very special:
-
A strong Christian ethos which promotes key values
throughout school life.
-
Positive links with the church and clergy.
-
A unique curriculum combining the national objectives
with themes which interest and engage our pupils and are
based around our local area.
-
Specialist music provision at Key Stage 2.
-
Four houses which give our children a team identity
within school and opportunity for competition and
collaboration.
-
Access to high quality sporting events within the local
area.
-
A focus on each child as an individual with provision
of intervention and challenge for each pupil in relation
to their needs and talents.
Astley St. Stephen’s is a forward-looking school
and we are always looking for opportunities to make our
children’s experience of learning even better. There
is a strong community feel to the school with a wonderful
parents association, a dedicated and talented staff team,
an effective and skilled Governing Body and enthusiastic
and confident children.
Astley St Stephen’s School has a lot to offer our
children and we always keep them at the heart of
everything we do. Thank you for visiting our
website.
