Writing Expectations

By the end of Year 3:

Children should produce a side or more of A4 writing that is clear and coherent
Basic punctuation should be mainly correct, including commas in lists (80% correct)
Children should be beginning to use paragraphs
They can use the correct organisation for the text type.
Can develop characters and describe settings, feelings/emotions
Use a wider range of connectives
Use adjectives and adverbs for description
Can use ambitious and interesting words
Handwriting should be neat and joined
